Winter 2010
The Winter 2010 edition of Pavement Preservation Journal focuses on FiberMat® demonstrations in Texas. Four small demonstration projects were completed in June of 2010 for the Texas Department of Transportation. The collaboration of Colas Solutions Inc. and Ergon Asphalt and Emulsions made these test runs possible. Read the article here.

APWA 2009 Congress

FiberMat® goes West!
July 2009 | Goshen County, WY
For the first time ever, FiberMat® has been used West of the Mississippi River. In July 2009, over 70,000 square yards of FiberMat Type A was placed on a road in Wyoming. Simon Contractors Corporation, a Colas Company, performed the work for Goshen County, about 60 miles northeast of Cheyenne.
In conjunction with this job, Simon invited road professionals in the area to come to the job site and actually observe the FiberMat application. Turn-out was excellent, with representatives from State & County DOT’s, as well as consultants and other contractors. These individuals came from not only Wyoming, but also Nebraska and Colorado.
In addition to a guided tour of the job during construction, Simon also put on an instructional session in the local community center which explained not only the FiberMat process, but also many of the other products and processes that Simon offers. The gathering concluded with a wonderful barbeque lunch.
Kudos is extended to all the Simon people responsible for this endeavor. In particular to Quint Davis, the Regional Manager in charge of pavement preservation and David Fertig, the Simon sales manager. A good job well done everyone!
